We started the day with a discussion of QR Scanners- something I have seen everywhere but never gave too much thought to, as something to use in my educational framework. It was so cool to see how they could be used as a QR Scanner app to utilize mobile devices in the classroom. 1 awesome example was to do scavenger hunts for project based learning- taking them into pic collage and labelling them. I could see how another idea of making relaxation books for calming, by scanning the QR code, using you tube videos, as well as colour coding and putting pics in. I have many students with sensory issues who would benefit from these technologies. A lot easier and more user friendly and personal than static social stories. I continue to be amazed with how quickly my students interact with the various ipad apps on our learning centre ipads.

Thanks for posting how to make Qr codes. After learning about QR codes and downloading the QR scanner app for my iPhone I am now seeing them everywhere! Just last night I was at the grocery store and saw a QR code on the label of a shampoo bottle and then this am when I changed my ink cartridge there was one on that.
ReplyDeleteThe excitment for me is where it is going to take me! Sometimes it is a product website, other times a video commercial. It is a surprise each time. I can't wait to keep my eyes open for more!
